Rocksbox!

I have a confession. I am a sucker for free things, but aren’t we all? Which brings me to the topic of this post. I stumbled across a free code to try Rocksbox out for a month. Now I had never heard of Rocksbox before so I ventured to their website to take a look. For those of you who don’t know, Rocksbox is a site where you can rent jewelry! And not just any kind of jewelry, designer jewelry! To me, I didn’t know the difference. But anyway, at first I thought, why would you want to pay money to rent jewelry that you have to give back instead of paying money to keep the jewelry forever. I then read some reviews and came across someone who pointed out that they really enjoyed this feature because they were sick of buying jewelry that they would only wear once! I thought that made some sense. So since I had a month free I thought why not? I created an account and they brought me through a series of questions about my style and what I like and don’t like. It then told me that I should view all of their pieces and create a wish list so the stylist could get a better feel for my style. At first I was just adding pieces that I would typically wear or similar to ones I already had. But then I thought, well since this is completely free and I have nothing to lose, I am going to be brave and put in some things that catch my eye but am unsure if I could pull off or not. So, account created, wish list created, now I wait… About a week later a grey box with a pretty pink bow was delivered! I was so excited to see what was in my mystery jewelry box! Now I’ve never been a jewelry fanatic but it was exciting receiving something new to try! I opened my box and was delighted by the selections that were picked out for me! I was a little hesitant at first because I had stated that I do not wear gold jewelry and all of the jewelry sent to me was gold but figured I would give it a try anyway. Here is what I received:

1. Slate Gypsy Soul Necklace in Blush

2. Elsie M Emily Earrings in Turquoise

3. Loren Hope Octavia Cuff in Crystal AB

One cool thing about all of the pieces I received is that I could probably pull off wearing it all together! Oh and did I mention that because you are a member you get special member discounts so if there is a piece you really like you can buy it at a discounted price! Now remember they are designer pieces so they are not Kohl’s department store pricing. And when I am finished showing off my new bling I just simply send it back with postage that has been provided. Yes, free shipping both ways, now that’s something within itself! So now you are probably wondering if I would recommend this service or not. Well, it is $19 a month to receive three pieces of designer jewelry to wear as long as you wish. Now if that does not seem like a lot of money to you for jewelry and you are the type of person who buys jewelry and only wears a couple of times then yea I think it’s for you. Me on the other hand, I don’t think I wear jewelry enough to have this service be very useful for me. But it was definitely a lot of fun to try! 🙂
